My experiences in the world of education have been an adventure! When I was a student myself, I greatly disliked school. I promised myself that my career would eventually help students like me create a better version of“school” for themselves. Searching for this role has led me through school psychology, restorative justice, social and emotional learning, and a whole variety of curriculum and instruction. The positions I’ve held demanded an array of knowledge, skills, and abilities. During my school psychology training and practice, I became an active data collector, counselor, analyst, and interventionist. As a restorative justice coordinator, I served as a mediator of restorative conversation and elementary practice coordinator. No matter where I worked or what I did, I was fortunate enough to meet professionals, families, and students who reminded me why I started this work in the first place. I remembered the promise I made myself early on, that I would help students to experience a world of education that felt right for them, and that’s why I joined JAM.
These challenging times call for the collaborative effort of parents, teachers, specialists, and students. Through the collaborative efforts of JAM Teaching, we can serve you and your student better than anyone else! I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
