My experiences in the world of education have been an adventure! When I was a student myself, I was not fond of school. I promised myself that my career would eventually help students like me create a better version of “school” for themselves. Searching for this role has led me through school psychology, restorative justice, social and emotional learning, and various curriculum and instruction. Recently, I became trained in Orton Gillingham approach. The positions I’ve held demanded an array of knowledge, skills, and abilities. During my school psychology training and practice, I became an active data collector, counselor, analyst, and interventionist. As a restorative justice coordinator, I served as a mediator of restorative conversation and elementary practice coordinator. No matter where I worked or what I did, I was fortunate enough to meet professionals, families, and students who reminded me why I started this work in the first place. I remembered the promise I made myself early on to help students experience a world of education that felt right for them, and that’s why I joined JAM. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you! Through the collaborative efforts of JAM Teaching, we can serve you and your student better than anyone else!
