Hello, Families! My name is Ms. Christina, and I am thrilled to be part of the JAM Teaching and Consulting team. I teach 2nd and 4th Grade Special Education in Mount Prospect and have worked with 1st-5th grade students. I was raised in Lombard and my educational journey began at Northern Illinois University, where I majored in Special Education. I was intrigued by students with Specific Learning Disabilities, so I continued my education and received my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Rockford University.
My professional experience includes 4 years teaching elementary school and 20 years as a special education teacher, which led me to a deep passion for working with students with academic, functional, and behavioral challenges. I'm exceptionally skilled in supporting students with specific learning disabilities in reading.
Outside the classroom, I love to spend time with my family, play with my dogs, go on hikes, do yoga and pilates, and listen to audiobooks and podcasts. I also love Netflix and enjoy binge-watching with my husband and daughters.
A guiding quote encapsulating my teaching philosophy is, "Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." This underscores my commitment to individualized teaching, as I recognize that every child is unique in their learning needs.
I apply my versatile teaching strategies to support the whole child—academically, emotionally, and socially. I am deeply committed to building strong relationships and becoming a valuable resource in your child's educational journey, ensuring their holistic development is at the forefront of my teaching approach. I am excited about the opportunity to learn and grow with your family. Let's embark on this educational journey with enthusiasm and dedication!
