Hello! I’m Ms. Claire and am currently studying to be a teacher in Northwestern University’s MSEd program. My focus is on secondary education (grades 5-12), with certifications in biology, English, and psychology. Currently, I am starting my student teaching experiences with 9th-grade biology classes at Lake View High School, and am loving being back in the classroom with students! Before starting grad school in Fall 2021, I majored in Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Chicago. After graduation, I stayed in Chicago and worked in strategy consulting at L.E.K. Consulting. I’m originally from the East Coast, but the friendliness of the Midwest has certainly drawn me in :) Outside of being a teacher, you can find me nerding out about architecture and exploring Chicago, running on the lakefront, or going to concerts.
I have always wanted to be a teacher and worked as a teacher’s assistant in classrooms during high school, and in CPS while in college. I’ve also been tutoring and TAing since high school, across all subjects and age groups. I love working with students and getting to witness and foster their creativity and curiosity. My former teachers are some of my strongest role models – I have them to thank for imparting a love of learning, and for pushing me to think critically. I hope to do the same for my future students and to be an educator who teaches my subject just as much as I support students' development into thinkers, questioners, and active and compassionate members of their communities. I can’t wait to get to know your students and support them with tutoring at JAM teaching. The best kind of teaching is personalized to the students. I look forward to learning more about you and your student’s learning goals, as we work together to ensure your child excels.
