Hi there! My name is Ms. Corey, and I am an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher at South Park Elementary School in Deerfield. I recently moved back to my hometown of Northbrook from the city of Chicago. I grew up down the street from my current house! I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Special Education. I started my career as a Special Education Resource Teacher in Schaumburg for two years before moving to Deerfield. I worked as a resource teacher in Deerfield for five years before falling in love with the littles and switching to Early Childhood, and I have been in this position for the past five years. This school year will be my 10th year teaching! I received my Master's Degree from National Louis University in Specialized Endorsements in Reading and English as a Second Language (ESL). I also obtained my Early Childhood Special Education certificate from National Louis. When I am not in the classroom, you can find me spending time with my husband Max, our 5-month-old daughter Tali, and our dog Josie. We love to take walks, cook dinner, and watch movies together. As a special education teacher, I love to dive deep into student needs and help to figure out how to help them reach their potential. I am excited to be on the JAM Teaching and Consulting team and look forward to connecting with more families and helping more students in a personalized environment!
