My name is Dahlia (Dah-lee-ya) Quintanilla (King-tah-knee-ya). I am a lifelong learner, passionate about working with students to achieve and access their unlimited learning abilities. I work from an asset-based lens that leverages students' strengths for learning. I have experience teaching 5th & 8th grade as a reading intervention specialist providing direct instruction to students K-8, and with 1-1 tutoring experience working with students K-8. I currently facilitate professional development for adult learners around restorative justice, SEL, and community building. I enjoy and have the opportunity to write a culturally responsive curriculum.
I have my master's in curriculum and instruction with a focus on community engagement. I am trained in restorative practices, SEL, mindfulness techniques, and the Orton-Gillingham multisensory approach to reading. Being in nature recharges me, and I love writing, reading, and practicing yoga. I have a pitbull baby named Nala, and we love walks to the dog park.
