My name is Dahlia (Dah-lee-ya). I am a lifelong learner passionate about working with students to achieve and access their unlimited learning abilities. I work from an asset-based lens that leverages students' strengths for learning. I have experience teaching 5th grade, working as a reading intervention specialist providing direct instruction to students K-8, and 1-1 tutoring experience working with students K-5. I have my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Community Engagement. I have training in restorative practices, SEL techniques, and the Orton-Gillingham Multisensory approach to reading.
I have a pitbull baby named Nala, and we enjoy going to the dog park. I love to write, read, and practice yoga.
