My name is Dahlia (Dah-lee-ya). I am a lifelong learner that is passionate about working with students to achieve and access their unlimited learning abilities. I work from an asset-based lens that leverages students' strengths for learning. I have experience teaching 5th grade, working as a reading intervention specialist providing direct instruction to students K-8, and 1-1 tutoring experience working with students K-5. I have my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Community Engagement. I'm also trained in restorative practices, SEL techniques, and the Orton-Gillingham multisensory approach to reading.
I have a pitbull baby named Nala and we enjoy walks to the dog park. I love to write, read, and practice yoga.
