Hi families! My name is Ms. Liv and I am a current senior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), majoring in psychology and minoring in kinesiology. Working with children of all ages has always been a passion of mine. Born and raised in Glenview, I started babysitting at the age of 13. My first “official” job began in high school when I worked at The Little Gym, I absolutely loved teaching gymnastics classes to children ages 4 months to 10 years, and leading birthday parties. I continued there until I began college, where I started to nanny full-time when home for school breaks. I loved to help kids with their homework, play games, have dance parties, and so much more! This past summer, I had the amazing opportunity of working at Camp Neeka, a therapeutic day camp, where I led children from ages 6-16 in participating in traditional day camp activities, making individualized modifications for each camper. It is amazing how much you can learn from children, and I am so grateful for all my work experiences thus far. I would be happy to provide more detail on what we accomplished at Camp Neeka!
After college, I plan to complete a fellowship at a community-based mental health facility in the suburbs of Chicago, where I will travel to different public schools to explain the importance of mental health first aid. Mental health is a topic I am passionate about, as I want people to be aware that their social and emotional well-being is just as important as their physical health.
Some of my hobbies include playing with my puppy, Kikko, dance, and yoga! I am also a huge fan of bananagrams, and play many different kinds of board games with my family when I am home. I can’t wait to help each child discover their own path to success!
