Hi! My name is Ms. Ann and I am a librarian and educator in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. I earned my Masters in Library Science, specializing in services to youth, at Dominican University. I currently teach at Dominican as an adjunct professor in the very same program: helping future teachers and librarians learn more about emergent literacy and serving children and families. As much as I love working with adult students, I could never give up my face-to-face time with kids, so I also work as a tutor! With a background in child development and early literacy, I am always up-to-date on the latest research and techniques for effective learning.
My teaching philosophy is based on developing relationships with my students and their families. I believe that education is a collective effort, and I would be honored to be a part of your kiddo’s learning team! All of my sessions are fully customized to your child and their interests with the goal of making the learning process fun and engaging.
Outside of work, you can find me snuggling with my two cats (Skittles and Kit-Kat). If you book a Zoom session with me, they might just make a guest appearance – they love joining Mommy for class . . . as long as it doesn’t interfere with their nap schedule!
