Ms. Brinee

Hello! My name is Ms. Brinee, and I have a decade of experience working with students from early childhood through high school. I am currently completing my student teaching, where I support and instruct 9th—and 10th-grade students in honors and regular English courses. I am also pursuing my bachelor’s degree in secondary education at National Louis University, focusing on English, Special Education, and English Language Learners.

My journey in education began early. At age 14, I volunteered as a tutor at Morton Elementary School, and by 16, I was supporting students in grades K–12 in subjects like English, history, and math. I’ve spent five years as a daycare teacher and teach Sunday school to children and teens ages 4 to 18. These experiences have strengthened my passion for education and given me a deep understanding of connecting with learners at every age and stage.

My teaching style is student-centered, supportive, and culturally responsive. Every student deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued in the learning environment. I create welcoming spaces where students are encouraged to collaborate, think critically, and connect learning to their lives. I love developing custom study guides that help students track their progress and stay engaged.

When working with students with unique learning needs, I focus on patience, flexibility, and individualized support. I have extensive experience working with students with ADHD and Autism, and I tailor my lessons to meet their strengths and learning styles. Whether breaking down concepts, using visual aids, or hands-on activities, my goal is to help each student succeed on their terms.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring new experiences. Lately, that includes rock climbing, going to the gym, and checking out creative activities like candle, perfume, and bracelet making around the city. I also love to travel and have visited 12 different cities in the last four years (despite my dislike of flying!).

I’m proud to have helped students improve their skills and truly thrive. One of my proudest moments was helping a student go from struggling in math to earning an A and returning to the honor roll. A parent once told me, “Thanks to you, she’s back on the honor roll!”One of my guiding beliefs is: “Education is not one-size-fits-all; it thrives when we embrace the diverse strengths, backgrounds, and ways of knowing that each student brings to the classroom.”

I’m excited to bring my passion, creativity, and commitment to every tutoring session, and I look forward to working with you and your child!
