Hello! My name is Ms. Ella, and I am passionate about helping students develop confidence and a love for learning. I am currently studying elementary education at Illinois State University, where I am also pursuing a reading endorsement to deepen my expertise in literacy instruction. Through my coursework and clinical experiences, I have worked in multiple elementary classrooms, gaining hands-on experience teaching reading, math, and whole-class instruction.

My background includes working in diverse educational settings and clinical placements. These experiences have strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction, manage classrooms effectively, and support students with diverse learning needs. In addition to my formal training, I have worked as a nanny, camp counselor, and homework assistant, providing individualized support to children in academic and recreational settings.

I believe in a hands-on, student-centered approach to teaching. Building strong relationships with students and incorporating their interests into lessons helps make learning meaningful and engaging. I aim to create an interactive learning environment that caters to each student’s strengths and unique learning style. When working with students with individualized learning needs, I focus on adapting instruction, incorporating different strategies, and ensuring each child receives the support they need to succeed.

Outside of tutoring, I love working out, spending time outdoors, and being with friends and family. Whether going for a walk, hiking or just enjoying fresh air, staying active helps keep me motivated and balanced. A fun fact about me is that I have run five half marathons, which has taught me the importance of perseverance, goal-setting, and discipline—qualities I also bring into my teaching.

One of my favorite quotes that guides my teaching philosophy is from Benjamin Franklin: "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." I strive to create lessons that engage students in active learning, helping them develop strong foundational skills while building confidence and independence.
