I attended UIC, and while there, I played volleyball and was in the College of Education. I live in the Lakeview area, and I love exploring everything the city has to offer. I've always loved working with children and knew right away that I wanted to work in education. I completed my student teaching at an elementary school in Little Village. I taught a second-grade class and had the opportunity to work with so many diverse students! I focused on differentiating my lessons to reach the different needs of my students. Understanding the different needs and learning styles of students is one of my main focuses as an educator. I successfully taught a classroom of students while attending to all of my students' different learning styles and ensuring the best opportunities for their learning.
My favorite part about being a teacher is how different every single day is. It is a roller-coaster type of career, in the best way possible! Students constantly have unique ideas and realizations, and being able to hear about them is so great. Another significant part about teaching is seeing the face of a student who understands a new concept or skill! I am so excited to begin my career with JAM Teaching and have the opportunity to customize the learning paths of so many students!
