
7. Nurture separation anxiety and make a list of the things you can do when you are missing a parent or loved one.
Not only will this help the child label the feelings they are having, but it will also provide them with a set of tools for what to do to combat some of those "butterflies" in their belly.
Some suggestions for what to do when you are missing someone you love:
❤Write me letter ❤️ Give yourself a big squeeze and send me quiet hug❤️ Find your family photo we packed❤️ Find a friend to play with❤️ Tell a teacher how you're feeling.
Part of being resilient is being able to face and roll with uncomfortable *or unpredictable situations. When you have a set of tools, you feel comfort knowing you are prepared.... also...this list goes out to all children... and parents. Often the first days of school are harder on the parent than the child. Breathe, reach into your own toolbox, and know that your kids are being taken care of in the best way. It's important to learn from different people, and how lucky are they that they get to do it beside professionals and friends.
