OMG I'm a Genius

When a student connects the dots of their learning and builds confidence, it's pretty impressive!

Many students are playing a constant guessing game when it comes to learning and school. They might have many snippets of information and data but don't know how to sort it, store it, locate it and/or use it. A significant part of learning and development is not just teaching "information." It's teaching someone HOW to store, locate and apply that information (executive functioning & cognitive development).

Think of a file cabinet (brain) and a desk full of papers (information/data). You can have a desk full of articles with essential data and information, but if there is no organizational system for how to store and locate the information, it's laborious and painstakingly difficult to find and use what you need. At JAM, we focus with learners not just on acquiring learning and data but also on the cognitive process of storing and accessing that information. The acquisition and application are equally important parts in order to create competent and confident learners.....maybe even some geniuses 😁
