P.R.I.D.E. strategies are a way to increase positive behaviors in young children. By offering verbal feedback, you give positive attention to the qualities you want to foster in your child and make them more likely to happen again. Setting up these opportunities for your child to build independence is validating. Praise: Praise your child's behavior.Reflect: Reflect appropriate speech, demonstrating to your child you are listening.Imitate: Imitate appropriate behavior and play. Describe: Describe your child's behavior Enthusiastic: Being enthusiastic makes your interactions feel warmer and keeps children interested.
