My name is Julia and I am the founder of JAM Teaching and Educational Consulting. I have been in the education field for over 13 years and worked in a variety of settings within the special education field. I have always been drawn to education and people with special needs but when I went to college initially thought I would be a National Geographic Photographer! I succumbed to my inner passion and decided to pursue teaching. In my sophomore year of college when I informed my special education advisor that they should consider making the coursework more difficult. I told her I thought it was too “easy.” She suggested it may be because I was a natural born educator and I should continue to pursue my education degrees! Throughout my teaching career, I have taken on increased management positions and been able to have a larger impact within the educational community. JAM Learning was started from a place of passion. I had a strong desire to help students and families that were struggling with their child’s learning and felt at a loss. While I love the community that a classroom of learners offer, there is something magical about seeing the growth in 1:1 settings and small group work with students. We have a dedicated group of educators that are eager to help your child! We look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
Spending most of my life in Seattle, I have a great appreciation for the outdoors! I love the water and the mountains and enjoy spending time hiking and doing anything outside. I love to dance and you can find me dancing most days. Living in Chicago, I love checking out the restaurants and culture that this great city offers!
When you see the light in a child’s face when they finally understand a concept they have struggled with!
