How does it work?
The process starts with a consultation from a JAM Teaching and Consulting team member. You will discuss your child's learning needs and desired outcomes. You are then paired with a tutor that can support your child's unique needs. The process is simple, streamlined, and child-centered.

Working with Julia has been a gamechanger for us. As parents, we didn't know how to support our first-grader with reading since it didn't seem to come 'naturally' to her. Once we got the diagnosis of dyslexia, a friend highly recommended JAM Teaching as an incredible resource, and I am so grateful she did. Julia helped to humanize the dyslexia diagnosis for us. Rather than being a scary clinical thing that defined our daughter, Julia helped our daughter and us to learn how to navigate it and capitalize on her strengths as a learner. Julia has been such a gift to our son and our family! We hired her to tutor our 1st grade son, who was in a mainstream class but has some special needs and was really struggling with the remote learning during the shutdown. Julia engaged and motivated him immediately. I have never seen someone able to work with him so well. She is energetic, warm, and kind, while also being firm and structured in order to keep my son on task. She goes above and beyond in terms of both prepping for their sessions and in terms of follow-up and collaborative planning. Julia is an asset to any student's academic team! She’s approachable and easy going but direct and firm when working with our boy.
